Chauss, I miss NYC.

I spent 1990 there, and I lived on the Upper West Side.

There is so much to see in the world, generally speaking, and I often want to be everywhere.

Life is simply too short.

I remember that when I got my position within the Greek Orthodox Church of New York, I made friends with a man, who sometimes guides tours at the Kehila-Kedosha-Janina Synagogue in New York City.

That is a gathering point of Romaniote Greek Jews.

After the destruction of the Second Temple, they were Jews sent on a slave ship to Rome.

But a storm forced them to land in Greece, where over the next 2.000 years they developed uniquely different ethnic and religious customs.

Greek Jewish immigrants founded that Synagogue in New York City, and the Jewish Greek Romaniots, who translated the Tanakh into Greek, have very peculiar customs, and almost everything is in Greek.
